This past weekend I was home suffering from a very bad cold and spent most of my time on the couch channel surfing? As luck would have it The Food Network showed back to back episodes of Halloween Wars (2011).
Halloween Wars is similar to Cupcake Wars, but instead of cupcakes you have massive pumpkins. In this four-episode competition series, five teams are comprised of candy makers, pumpkin carvers, and cake decorators. While working together to create the ultimate Halloween themed display, the competition becomes fierce. One team is eliminated each week and the winner takes home $50,000.
All of the teams brought their best players into play.
Ray Villafane: “Team BOO” (has to be the most talented pumpkin carver I have ever seen; it doesn’t hurt he’s hot as well.) Besides being on Halloween Wars, you might have seen him on Martha Stewart last year.
Karen Portaleo: “Team Bling Bats” Karen is known as the best of the best in the cake industry. She is the lead cake decorator at Atlanta’s Highland bakery. Her art work is listed below. She created Sleeping Beauty waiting for her prince to come. Only thing is the Prince never showed up.
