If you’re like me, then you love corn. Living in the “Garden State” known as New Jersey, I have found the corn to be tender and delicious ….no need to pass the butter. During the summer months I can’t get enough; waiting the full 15 minutes to prep and cook just drives me insane. You might be saying to yourself that I’m impatient. Yes, when it comes to corn I am definitely impatient.

If you have a microwave and have as little as 4 minutes to spare, then you can make yourself some delicious corn on the cob.

Follow these simple instructions:

  • Grab some fresh-as-possible sweet corn (white or yellow). Make sure each ear still has the husk around it.
  • Place the ears (up to 4) in the center of the microwave as is.
  • Take the number of ears and multiply by 4. This will give you the number of minutes to cook the corn. Each ear takes 4 minutes.
  • Allow the corn to sit wrapped up for a minute or so to distribute its heat and continue to cook.
  • Remove the ears from microwave and place on a cutting board. ** This will be extremely hot.
  • While corn is still in the husk cut off the end of the husk/corn. Pick up corn by the pointy side and hold cut end over bowl. Your corn will fall out of the husk and you will have delicious corn.
